It’s a fresh new year and that means a fresh new space with bright colors and positive vibes! If you are a creative that works from home, having an office space that inspires you, is imperative. Designing a home office, should be a reflection of you and your own personal style to help get those creative juices flowing. I like to mix fun, colorful home decor accessories with a statement piece or two and finish the space off with more neutral, investment pieces.
Although this trend of wavy or curved interior design is popular now, it’s a style I’ve been crazy about since I began my interior design obsession, many years ago. From the mid-century modern, retro shapes of the 50’s to the awesome abstract of the 80’s, the curvy, soft elements create a more calm feeling of the space for me. For me, the bright, bold colors invoke happiness and help to inspire creative, successful ideas. When I’m designing or styling a space, boring is never an option.
*BREE’S DESIGN TIP: Don’t get discouraged when you find an almost-perfect furniture piece or accessory, if it isn’t the exactly what you want, just make it your own. This bookcase was perfect for this space, but the hardware isn’t the right style and finish I wanted so swapping the pulls out for a more playful, look that fits the aesthetic is an easy way to get those little details I needed to “pull” it all together. (see what I did there…)
